(Detroit, Mich. – September 1, 2021) Priority Health, Michigan’s fastest growing health plan, announces that it is partnering with the Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank (MDDB) as the exclusive sponsor in September to support local families in need of diapers. Priority Health is donating 90,000 diapers to be distributed across 13 Metro Detroit locations.
“While COVID-19 has impacted the finances of many, one in three families reported struggling to provide diapers for their children even prior to the pandemic. As stimulus payments end, we anticipate an increased need for diapers and other basic items,” said Shannon Wilson, Vice President, State Markets East at Priority Health. “We’re committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our communities, which include infants and children. By partnering with organizations like the Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank, we can help families avoid having to choose between purchasing diapers or other basic necessities.”
Starting September 1, Priority Health will support drive-thru diaper distributions held by the Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank at multiple locations in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. Once a month, parents can make a request for diapers via the MDDB online form and select a specific pickup location, date and time. Please see the MDDB website for more information.
“We are so thankful to partner with Priority Health as we work to ensure everyone in the Metro Detroit area can be clean, dry and healthy,” said Veronica Claybrone, Founder and Director of the Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank. “Together, we can continue to make this community a better place.”
Previously, Priority Health supported the Battle Creek Family YMCA and St. Luke’s Diaper Bank to distribute nearly 240,000 diapers to families throughout Southwest Michigan.
